Meet Miss Congeniality herself, Bri Amidei. She’s grown up in the pageant world, which has given her a leg up on the competition when it comes to public speaking and a liking for community service. In eighth grade, Bri fractured her spine in cheerleading practice, leaving her with a full torso brace she had to sport her entire preteen year; knowing Bri, she probably absolutely rocked it. Off stage, Bri loves hanging out with her 2-year-old nephew, who she just can’t get enough of.

This summer, Bri lived her dream as a participant in the Disney College Program — no word yet on if she got to hang with Mickey. She also serves as the treasurer for the American Advertising Federation and holds the position of social media and marketing director for the Vernon Hills Pageant.

Whether she’s volunteering with kids doing therapeutic horseback riding, driving students home safely after their nights out or safeguarding beaches, this fearless gal will do just about anything for her myriad of communities, one of which is her home, Naperville, Illinois. For the last four summers, she’s been in guest services at Centennial Beach, a historic rock-quarry-turned-pool. While this job can involve dealing with rude patrons, scrubbing the dumpster and cleaning up kids’ spills, the end of the day makes up for it in the form of a stunning sunset against a serene lagoon. She never knew a minimum wage job at a pool would help her learn so much about working with people, handling conflict and sticky situations, all of which are skills that are easily transferable to her work in account planning.

The first time she visited Mizzou, she was in fourth grade, eager to drop off her oldest sister. Two years later, she was moving in her other sister when one of the check-in crew mistook her for a freshman in college. She was 11 years old and sporting a rainbow tank top. It’s not unusual for Bree to be considered wise beyond her years, though. To this day, some mistake her and her older sister as twins. A trick she, in retrospect, possibly should have taken more advantage of at times.

This University of Missouri legacy is leaving her mark. By graduation, it will be etched on the historic walls of Jesse Hall that Bree is the most masterful, magnificent Minger with which Mizzou has ever been graced.

Bailey Sims grew up thinking she was going to have just as good of a life as anyone else – maybe even a better one than most. She was born into the beautiful rugged landscape of the Rocky Mountains. Her weekdays were spent marveling at nature’s many forms, and her weekends were full of snow ports with her family. She was even lucky enough to own a goat, named Harold.

But the mountains giveth, and the mountains taketh away. When Bailey was 6 years old, Harold was abducted by a disgruntled neighbor, never to be seen again. At the loss of her first real friend, Bailey’s heart shattered to bits, remaining bitterly broken for years to come.

It wasn’t until she discovered advertising that her heart finally beat with life again, and for the first time since that tragic day, she could move past the memory of her goat. Since then, she has been determined to take the world by storm. Over the last few years, she’s led and participated in multiple service projects across the United States, where she has taken on environmental preservation and other challenges. Currently, she serves as a writing tutor in the Student Success Center and, last summer, she interned at Hill + Knowlton Strategies in Brussels, Belgium. After she finishes school, she plans to return to Colorado, work for an agency, and honor the legacy of her late goat.

Account Planner

It may not mean nothing to y’all, but Zak Sandeman is one of the biggest Drake fans you’ll ever meet. If you ever have a minute, he’d be happy to sit down with you and walk you through some of the rapper’s deeper tracks. But unless you really have the time, don’t get Zak started on the LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan debate. It might be a hot take, but Zak will happily go to his grave arguing that LeBron James is the most talented athlete to ever play the game of basketball.

When Zak isn’t deep-diving into Aubrey Graham’s discography or discussing the merits of the greatest basketball player to ever wear the number 23, he’s working as a marketing coordinator for LaSalle St. Securities, a Broker Dealer based in Chicago. This past summer, Zak interned with FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications team in Houston. His team handled media relations and public affairs for oil and gas companies, and it was while working on this team that he discovered his passion for the energy sector. The oil industry is complex and controversial, but Zak believes he can help the public to better understand it.

From Mokena, Illinois, Zak joins MOJO as an account planner. He loves the role because it requires him to think like a consumer and be observant at all times. Zak has always been a hard worker, and he’s ready to give this year his all. But just know that if you’re trying to get ahold of him on an NFL Sunday, he’ll always have one eye on you and the other on his fantasy lineup.
