Ashley Rodio
Account Manager
Curiosity is the root of all good ideas—that’s why Ashley Rodio is our Account Manager. With two PR internships under her belt and crisis communications experience, she understands the importance of strategy and authentic communication.
Being far from her hometown of Denver does not stop Ashley’s ambitions. In fact, Ashley went even further from home, studying in Florence, Italy. While abroad, she applied classroom knowledge and skills to work as a PR intern at W Tuscany Events and Florence University of the Arts, curating brand image to public media platforms, working in experiential public relations and assisting in event planning.
While PR is Ashley’s practice, storytelling is Ashley’s passion! Storytelling motivates Ashley to pursue strategy, something she got to put into practice while writing blog articles for Florence University to help build the school’s reputation and image.
With Ashley back in Columbia, she welcomes hundreds of prospective students from across the country to the Missouri School of Journalism as a journalism ambassador. After all, who better to show off the School of Journalism than the former Public Relations Student Society of America president?
After graduation, Ashley will be returning full-time to FTI Consulting, where she interned this past summer, supporting high-profile crisis accounts. She’s excited to practice her skills further in crisis scenarios in litigation, cybersecurity and more.
Don’t worry, Ashley is dynamic, so she knows how to sprinkle some fun in with her hard-working professionalism. One of her passions is food. Whether it’s trying new restaurants, flavor profiles or new recipes, she lives her life around food. You can catch her experimenting with unique dishes every month and perfecting her homemade sourdough recipes. Prisma is happy to have an Account Manager with such good taste!

Inez Goering
Qualitative Strategist
Meet Inez Goering, our Qualitative Strategist and a Charlottesville, Virginia, native with a curiosity that doesn’t quit and a quirky personality. For Inez, strategy isn’t just about data points and charts. It’s about digging into the why behind human behavior and telling stories that make brands feel alive.
Her professional path has been anything but ordinary. Inez studied account planning with Professor Jamie Flink, cut her teeth as a marketing intern at a startup and dove into international communications as an intern with Phrenos, a marketing agency working on European Union government contracts. She’s also rounded out her resume with PR experience at Florence University of the Arts. Whether it’s planning, PR or communications, Inez has proven she has skills in many settings.
On campus, she’s just as involved. From Mizzou’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America to the Italian Club, Inez has pursued her passions with energy and enthusiasm. If Mizzou students go rock climbing at the MizzouRec, there’s a chance she’s the one keeping them safe on the other end of the rope as a certified belayer. Inez has also made her mark through leadership and community engagement in the spaces where she thrives.
Inez learned she can quack like a duck in a realistic way. It’s a talent passed down from her grandpa, Papa Lowell, and it’s more than a party trick; it’s a family legacy. Every time she quacks, it’s both a laugh and a tribute.

Sophie Van Dyne
Quantitative Strategist
As a child, Sophie Van Dyne always preferred research papers. Despite an abundance of fiction novels like “The Magic Tree House” or “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, Sophie found herself more drawn to the numbers behind ideas and industries. Hailing from Jefferson City, Missouri, Sophie did not have to travel far to explore the various possibilities through the School of Journalism, leading her to be the Prisma Quantitative Strategist.
Some could call her a Jill-of-all-trades with all the strategic communication experience under her wing. She currently contributes to Matchbook Marketing through media planning, graphic design production and brainstorming creative yet effective marketing solutions. Her role specifically emphasizes collaboration, creativity and attention to detail in a fast-paced agency environment.
Queue Ms. Numbers! Sophie’s interest in consumer behaviors is exactly what the women-owned Community Asset Builders needs for communication development. Sophie combines survey research data to inform messaging and support project planning and execution.
When she’s not crunching numbers and dissecting research, she can be found operating the camera for Mizzou’s Daily Blend and Tiger Kickoff or volunteering with her service-sorority sisters from Little Sisters of Gold Rose. Her philanthropy efforts range from MizzouThon to FoodBank to Day Solutions in Jefferson City. Sophie’s heart is big, keeping her consistently involved and motivated to help others and give back to the community.
Sophie loves sports, all things outdoors and exploring new places, so say “Hi” if you run into her hiking local trails, riding her bike or climbing some cool rocks. Sophie considers herself a professional snowboarder—the falling and rolling down the mountain part included. But like Chumbawamba says, “I get knocked down, but I get up again.”

Elise Jessee
Digital Strategist
The best question to ask when it comes to Digital Strategist, Elise Jessee is what hasn’t she done? Elise is as ambitious as a girl can be, making it her prerogative to test out all sorts of strategic communication roles, all while being “chronically online”!
She holds the internal director position for Mizzou’s student-staffed marketing agency, Matchbook Marketing. As part of this position, she oversees six internal teams and leads recruitment efforts for 120+ members.
When she’s not in the MOJO Ad lab, you can find Elise at one of her many clubs, including but not limited to American Advertising Federation or Public Relations Student Society of America.
In 2024, Elise was selected from a competitive applicant pool as an internal communications intern for Burns & McDonnell. While on the team, she coordinated communication initiatives, refreshed branding materials and developed communications plans to support employee engagement.
Elise continues to apply strategic planning and content development techniques as a marketing intern with Archer Technologies LLC. Being part of the team since 2023, Elise has collaborated on the company’s first ESG sustainability report and managed content and design for customer newsletters. In 2024, she had the opportunity to attend and staff the Archer Summit conference in New Orleans, and she recently tackled client reference building to develop the company’s go-to-market strategy and competitive research.
Beyond her innovative and research-backed content ideas, Elise has a hidden talent: the flute. While she could’ve chosen to play any other instrument, she decided to take on the challenge and learn how to play the flute, and the rest is history. Since then, she’s performed at volunteer events, earned first chair in her school’s top symphonic bands and served as historian for the music honor society, Tri-M. She hopes someday, you might find her playing at weddings.

Public Relations Account Manager
The mind behind Prisma’s masterful integrated campaign exposure and our Public Relations Account Manager, it’s Kelly Ritter! You’ll often find her baking her favorite goodies, particularly peanut butter cookies, in between cooking up impressive integrated plans for her clients.
Experience is the source of all success, and Kelly Ritter is the definition of that fact. Between her internships at Veterans United and Orange Theory and her extensive professional experience working with Weber Shandwick in the Big Apple, Kelly’s background makes her an unparalleled talent in the communications field. Hailing from Manchester, Missouri, her travels give her a unique perspective and an eye for strategic execution.
During her time in New York, Kelly helped to deliver on every facet of an integrated campaign, expanding her repertoire of strategic communications skills across research, social media and creative opportunities. Delivering a real, actionable pitch to clients at the end of her program puts her ahead of most and her time spent as a part of a real team has given her a special outlook on the work she does as the Public Relations Account Manager for MOJO.
Kelly doesn’t just use her talents to deliver to clients. As the marketing and public relations manager for the University of Missouri Kesem chapter, an organization that provides support for children whose parents are undergoing cancer treatment, she helped to support their communication efforts through newsletters and social content. Her work had tangible effects in the lives of real families, with the community events she helped plan raising money to send kids to Kesem’s summer camp completely free of charge. In addition to being an impressive administrator for the organization, she worked as a counselor, helping kids battle through a difficult time in their lives.
Kelly has spent time as a crucial part of her sorority, Chi Omega, and the Greek Week steering committee, as well as the VP of Finance for the public relations student organization, PRSSA. Bryleigh Giffin
Media Planner
Live from Prisma, it’s Bryleigh Giffin! Hailing from Oak Grove, MO, Bryleigh is our expressive and organized media planner, one who leads confidently and thinks proactively. One of her greatest loves is for live entertainment, whether she’s enjoying theatre, concerts, sporting events or is on the stage herself. Bryleigh values in-person experiences for the opportunities to be present and fully engaged, especially in such a digital age. When she’s not catching a live show or working tirelessly on marketing projects, she enjoys getting lost in a good book and playing sand volleyball.
A quality strategic campaign calls for multifaceted talent and Bryleigh put that into practice as the strategic communications intern at Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, a foundation based in Kansas City that builds and supports local entrepreneurial and educational programs. Bryleigh developed a comprehensive marketing plan complete with SWOT analysis, key messaging aligned with organizational goals and interviews that she conducted and analyzed. She further honed her skills by creating supporting content including website audits, email copy and visual assets, plus she wrote mission-drive affirmation cards for 1 Million Cups and the FastTrac Summit.
Lights, camera, transaction! Bryleigh intertwined her passions for theatre and marketing at Starlight Theatre, where she worked as a sales and marketing intern. This resilient creative is from St. Louis and is dedicated to producing graphic content that meets client needs. Harper Kehl is pulling into the imagination station as Prisma’s Art Director. Harper’s dedication to art and creative communication is reflected in her work experience.

At Savor Columbia, Harper managed and created all print ads and layouts for magazine publication, ensuring the client’s print advertising needs and expectations were met. If you’re looking to get into running, give Harper a call!

Lylah Calhoun
Video Producer
Prisma’s visionary video extraordinaire is Lylah Calhoun! Her flexibility transcends her work capabilities – she further balances her mind and body with yoga, running and reading.
Lylah’s zeal for communication and personability spans from coast to coast, especially because she’s worked on both! On the East Coast, Lylah spent time in New York City working as a public relations intern at Weber Shandwick. Here, she collaborated with a student team to develop a comprehensive PR campaign for GoGo squeeZ Active, gaining hands-on experience in agency strategy, professional collaboration and campaign development.
Out west, Lylah worked as a PR coordinator for ABC News political reporter Monica Madden in San Francisco. Lylah identified content trends to bolster audience engagement on Madden’s TikTok and Instagram accounts. Using these dazzling insights, she pitched content ideas, edited and maintained video content and participated in weekly strategy meetings.
Though Lylah has traveled far and wide, her heart remains in the Midwest. Born in O’Fallon, Illinois, she continually works to be the best video producer on both sides of the Mississippi. At Mizzou Child and Family Justice Clinic, she collaborated with a team to promote public awareness of the clinic by developing a social media strategy designed to increase engagement and advocacy for the clinic’s pro bono work. At Matchbook Marketing, Lylah grew her expertise as the social media strategist for Green Society, a plant shop in Mizzou’s Student center. She also trained her talents on NIL Fans, an app that connects college students to a network of NIL opportunities. Lylah also is a general member of Mizzou’s chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America.
Service has been a key focus of Lylah’s time as a member of Delta Delta Delta. She was one of her sorority’s head liaisons for Mizzou Homecoming, where she led her pairing to 4th place in Service. Outside of that role, Lylah has played a vital role in raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tri Delta’s philanthropy. She has also spent time volunteering at Boone County Family Resources, helping with food and cleanup at picnics.
As she serves her community, Lylah serves looks with what she wears. She brought her passion for fashion as the videographer for Mizzou Textile and Apparel Management’s first-ever student-created runway showcase. In this role, she constructed promotional videos leading up to the event, captured runway footage and stitched it together, interviewed designers and tailored final event content. Lylah’s creativity and reliability will never go out of style!
Beyond school and work, Lylah keeps her music turned up to eleven. She enjoys DJing for friends and gatherings, curating playlists and sets around different moods, seasons and holidays. When she’s not spinning records, Lylah is discovering live music, particularly at the Blue Note in Columbia. Whether she’s exploring the sonic splendor of ‘80s rock guitarists, keeping time with a jazz ensemble or giving house music a home, Lylah loves to experience music in person and attends as many concerts as she can.

Carter Waghorne
Copywriter
From Austin, Texas, it’s Carter Waghorne, one of our copywriters! A team player whose work ethic and passion bleeds through into his work, Carter brings his A-game to everything he writes. When he’s not writing, you can find him at a local comic book store checking out new and old issues of his favorite characters and stories, especially Spider-Man!
Writing has been a core part of Carter’s college experience, building a strong foundation of communications working as a sports writer for the Maneater, Mizzou’s fully-independent, student-staffed newspaper. He had the opportunity to publish several articles across digital and physical news mediums, acquiring a wealth of experience with strategic writing. His minor in history means his work contains extra consideration for the context of communications that have come before.
As a member of PRSSA and AAF, two of Mizzou’s largest strategic communications student organizations, Carter continued to build on his skills as a communicator, working with Mizzou Athletics to deliver strategic recommendations on NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) opportunities for athletes. Those projects allowed him to develop skills across the world of communications, strengthening his writing, creative and strategic skills, especially in the world of sports.
Carter believes that all good strategic communications work comes from putting careful thought into the words you use, and plans to put that to work over the course of State of the YAYA, employing his experiences across his work history to ensure every letter is selected with care.

Kate Lopez
Copywriter
From Columbia, Missouri, one of our copywriters is Kate Lopez! Guided by her top CliftonStrength of adaptability, Kate is a motivated creator who wholeheartedly believes that every day is a chance to learn. She can often be found thrifting, enjoying coffee, watching football and enjoying free time with loved ones.
Growing up, Kate was constantly surrounded by music. In first grade, she started taking piano lessons and singing in the school choir. Nowadays, Kate collects vinyl and takes music with her everywhere. She’s usually listening to grunge, house, hip hop, jazz, new wave, classic rock, funk, folk or anything in between as she pursues a minor in music history.
Words are another cornerstone of Kate’s life and work. Writing quickly became the thing that just “made sense,” so much so that she would offer to help others with their papers solely for the love of the game. Kate is so enamored with writing that she decided to pencil a Writing Intensive (WI) certificate into her degree plan.
Kate’s first collegiate WI course brought her to the University of Missouri Writing Center, where she has since worked as a tutor for almost two years. In this role, Kate has worked with undergraduate students in various academic fields on a plethora of writing assignments. This year, Kate joined the staff’s Outreach team, where she gives presentations to classes and does tabling events encouraging students to write. Another WI class provided Kate the opportunity to attend and review the documentary Zodiac Killer Project on behalf of Vox Magazine at the internationally-recognized True/False Film Fest, which became her first-ever professionally published written work.
Kate continued excavating her writing path as an employer communications intern at EquipmentShare. She constructed profile stories about employees across the United States, handled weekly email communications and unearthed material to use in the company’s Year in Review newsletter.
Outside of school, words and music, Kate is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She has been part of Homecoming and Greek Week fling performances each semester for her sorority and won Best Supporting Actress last fall for her role as a Settler of Catan. Kate also takes part in the Rock-It lip sync competition for Rockin’ Against Multiple Sclerosis each year. Elsewhere on campus, Kate was a Summer Welcome leader, where she helped welcome new students and their families to the university. She is also a Walter Williams Scholar, member of the Honors College and has sung with Sankofa Chorale and Choral Union.
Kate’s passion for creativity doesn’t stop on the page – she also loves to express herself through what she wears. Halloween is her favorite holiday and her past costumes include Ozzy Osbourne, Derek Zoolander, Amy Winehouse, Bob Ross, Guy Fieri, Freddie Mercury and the Walmart Yodeling Kid.
