Ryan Curtis
Is Ryan Curtis a Vampire? Let’s run through the list: Alluring pallor? Check. A childhood story that involves only his two canine teeth? Check. Considers sleep to be an “option”? Check. Maneater? Check. (Go ahead; see his résumé for this one.)
While the rest of team Maven sure hopes that Ryan is, in fact, a human, there’s no denying that this art director has some supernatural talent. He’s got experience working as a photographer for The Maneater, a student-run newspaper at the University of Missouri, and as graphic designer for Thumper Entertainment and the Roots ‘N Blues ‘N BBQ Festival. That, along with his freelance work makes it easy to see how Ryan adds the perfect touch of quirky charm to team Maven’s creative forces.
While there are still some lingering questions about Ryan, like why the Salvation Army refuses to accept his donations, how antibiotics forced him to have all his childhood teeth except his canines pulled, or why he got a facial in anticipation for senior year, all pale in comparison with his obsession with Justin Timberlake. Perhaps it’s bloodlust, or maybe he learned to appreciate a quality perm while he was at the spa, but something about the sweet Southern charm of Timberlake renders him incapable of changing the song. So is Ryan actually a vampire, or is he just a boy band wannabe? Will team Maven survive until client presentations this spring? Only time will tell.
